TURRIS EBURNEA ACADEMY

Restoring the Sacred to Education

A classical Catholic academy in Rapid City, South Dakota, partnering with families to prepare students to defend the faith, rebuild Catholic culture, and participate in the restoration of Christendom.

"Know of my support for the sacred work underway at your academy."

— His Excellency Bishop Scott Bullock, Ordinary of the Diocese of Rapid City

Our Sacred Mission

Turris Eburnea Academy's primary goal is to bring greater glory to God by restoring the sacred to Catholic education. We partner with families—the heart of our school—to form students who will defend the faith, rebuild Catholic culture in the world, and participate in the restoration of Christendom. Together with families, we prepare young men and women to be shining examples of prayerful and pious living.

Entering our seventh academic year in 2026-2027. We are a NAPCIS pre-accredited member school.

We Aspire to Reach Our Goals by Restoring:

Traditional, Classical Education

A traditional, classical model of Catholic education, with an approach that is rooted in natural law. Our curriculum emphasizes the great works of Western thought and literature, the philosophical and theological underpinnings of the Catholic faith, and the Church's central role in forming Western civilization.

Forming minds and souls through the proven methods of classical Catholic pedagogy.

Partnership with Families

Our hybrid model enables a strong partnership between home and school —built on shared commitment to the Catholic faith, consistent formation, and mutual support. We work to know each family personally, understanding that forming young souls in truth and virtue is a team effort that extends beyond the classroom. This is an environment where families can flourish and work together with other families to support the education of their children, alongside faculty and staff.

Families working together and with the school.

Traditional Textbooks

Carefully selected traditional textbooks that do not distort the history and culture of the Catholic Church, but rather celebrate the truth, goodness, and beauty it has brought to the world over the course of more than two thousand years. Our materials present an authentic Catholic worldview.

Quality texts that honor our faith and intellectual tradition.

Face to Face Learning with Minimal Technology

Personal, in-person instruction exposes children to their pastor, teachers, and fellow students in a peaceful classroom setting. Students begin each day with Holy Mass. Our learning environment emphasizes hands-on engagement with minimal use of technology, allowing students to develop critical thinking, focus, and genuine connection with material.

Real human connection and focused learning without digital distraction.

We provide a complete curriculum and weekly lesson plans for our families.

What Students Learn

Students participate in weekly, in-person classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings with full time teachers and tutoring on Thursdays, followed by time together as a community including lunch and electives. Classes deliver in-person instruction as well as hands-on activities and experiments. During the rest of the week, families follow our curriculum in the homeschool, under the direction of parents and with the full support of our teachers and staff—because families are the heart of our educational model.

Our curriculum and lesson plans have been developed by an experienced team that includes two trained teachers. Extensive research was done to compare across many other curricula and we will continue to revise and improve it. We place special emphasis on preparation for the world as Catholics, able to uphold and defend our values and beliefs. We provide students with exposure to all possible paths in life, not just a 4 year college education. This includes: vocational discernment to the priesthood and religious life, trades and certifications, as well as the domestic vocations.
